Katabasis Torino in collaboration with Sport e Natura
Katabasis Torino is an associated centre that was created through collaboration with Sport e Natura and the experience of Francesco Escoffier, a freediving instructor, sailor and physical education teacher.
For over ten years, Francesco has been collaborating with Katabasis Freediving and Sailing in organizing summer camps for children. Since 2026, the Torino branch has expanded its activities by officially opening freediving courses and training sessions for adults as well.
The Turin branch operates in coordination with the main Katabasis organization, maintaining the same teaching standards and technical approach as Carlo Boscia
Katabasis Torino: activities in Piemonte, Liguria and Tuscany
The activity takes place between Turin and the sea, and the following are organized throughout the year:
- freediving courses and training in the pool
- activities and summer camps for children
- regular trips to the sea in Tuscany and Liguria
The pool sessions take place at the Venaria swimming pool and in various other swimming facilities, with a depth of 5 meters, used for technical training and freediving preparation. The sea trips, on the other hand, are the natural complement to the work done in the pool, allowing students to apply their skills in a real environment.

The Piemonte branch is coordinated by Francesco Escoffier, a gymnastics teacher who, in addition to being a freediving instructor, is also an expert sailor and lifesaving certification trainer. He is joined by:

The staff’s work is carried out in line with Katabasis’ teaching approach and under the supervision of Carlo Boscia.
Participation and contacts
The activities are open to members and new students interested in developing a continuous technical programs in Piemonte, with the possibility of integration with activities at sea in Tuscany and Liguria
