Ik heb zojuist de cursus van het eerste niveau van deze fantastische discipline afgerond... het was nog spannender dan ik al had verwacht. Ik heb veel geleerd en ik sta nog maar aan het begin van dit avontuur. Veel dank aan Carlo, een zeer goede instructeur met oneindige zee-ervaring en, last but not least, een geweldig persoon.Tijdens de cursus heb ik andere geweldige mensen ontmoet, met dezelfde passie voor de zee als ik en een groot leergierigheid. Het was echt gaaf om de emoties, de moeite en de vreugde met hen te delen midden in het blauw!
Ho appena finito il corso di primo livello di questa fantastica disciplina…è stato persino più emozionante di quanto già mi aspettassi. Ho imparato tanto, e sono soltanto all’inizio di questa avventura. Grazie mille a Carlo, bravissimo istruttore con un’esperienza di mare infinita e, non per ultimo, gran bella persona.Durante il corso ho conosciuto altre splendide persone, con la mia stessa passione per il mare e tanta voglia di imparare. In questa settimana ho imparato tantissimo L apnea, la vela, conoscere le stelle che in città non si possono ammirare come li, le canzoni dei vecchi tempi e la compagnia fantastica ricordi che resteranno a vita che mi fanno commuovere. Entrando in quella barca tutti abbiamo lasciato una parte della nostra vita e ci siamo lasciati trasportare. Grazie ancora per tutte le risate e le lezioni di vita
In deze week heb ik veel geleerd over freediven, zeilen, het kennen van de sterren die niet in de stad te bewonderen zijn zoals daar, de liedjes van vroeger en het fantastische gezelschap, herinneringen die voor het leven zullen blijven en die me in beweging brengen . Door in die boot te stappen hebben we allemaal een deel van ons leven achter ons gelaten en ons laten meeslepen. Nogmaals bedankt voor al het lachen en de levenslessen
Highly recommended!!!Had chance to join 3 different courses in Jun-Jul'24, from basics of freediving & spearfishing to deeper steps of the SSI Lev1. Was a great experience, opening to me the wonderful Underwater World, with the precious help of a great instructor such as Carlo Boscia.Highly professional approach, easy and friendly environment, with the right teaching balance between demanding & flexibility.Equipment of the highest standards. Marvellous location such as the Baratti Gulf.All those factors made the 2 weeks spent with Katabasis and Carlo a pure experience of happiness and harmony with the Sea World.I'll definitely continue practicing freediving, learning as much as I can, and definitely returning to train & learn with Carlo and Katabasis whenever I'll have chance.Thanks again Carlo and Katabasis, and see you soon!!!
Rezension meiner Mutter zum Freitauchkurs:Ich kann Katabasis Freediving wärmstens empfehlen. Carlo Boscia kennt sich hervorragend mit den technischen und mentalen Aspekten des Freitauchens aus, was dem Taucher hilft, Fortschritte zu machen und das Tauchen noch mehr zu genießen. Er ist sehr aufmerksam und bemerkt die kleinsten Bewegungen, wodurch er den Tauchern präzises, hilfreiches Feedback geben kann. Carlo kann sehr gut mit Menschen umgehen, es macht Spaß, mit ihm zusammen zu sein, und man merkt, dass ihm das Meer und die Umwelt am Herzen liegen. Während mein Mann und ich mit Carlo Zeit im Wasser verbrachten, vergnügten sich unsere Töchter im Teenageralter und genossen die wunderschönen Strände von Baratti. Der Aufenthalt im hübschen mittelalterlichen Dorf Suvereto im „Il Chiostro“ machte unseren Traum – Freitauchen und Familienurlaub in der Toskana – zur Vollendung. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder! ☺️
Mijn moeders recensie over de freediving-cursus:Ik kan Katabasis Freediving van harte aanbevelen. Carlo Boscia heeft zeer veel kennis van de technische en mentale aspecten van het vrijduiken, waardoor de duiker vooruitgang kan boeken en nog meer van het duiken kan genieten. Hij is zeer attent en merkt de kleinste bewegingen op, waardoor hij de duikers nauwkeurige, nuttige feedback kan geven. Carlo is erg goed met mensen, leuk om mee te maken en je kunt zien dat hij veel om de zee en het milieu geeft. Terwijl mijn man en ik met Carlo tijd in het water doorbrachten, genoten onze tienerdochters van de prachtige stranden van Baratti. Een verblijf in het mooie middeleeuwse dorp Suvereto bij "Il Chiostro" maakte onze droom - freediving en familievakantie in Toscane compleet. Ik kom zeker terug! ☺️
My moms Review on the freediving course:I can highly recommend Katabasis Freediving. Carlo Boscia is extremly knowlegeable regarding the technical and mental aspects of freediving, which help the diver to progress and to enjoy the diving even more. He is very attentive and notices the tiniest moves which allows him to provide the divers with accurate helpful feedback. Carlo is very good with people, fun to be with and you can tell that he deeply cares about the sea and the environment. While my husband and I were spending time in the water with Carlo, our teenage daughters were having fun enjoying the beautiful beaches at Baratti. Staying in the lovely medieval village Suvereto at "Il Chiostro" made our dream -freediving and family holiday in Tuscany complete. Coming back for sure! ☺️

Una delle nostre prime esperienze di apnea in mare. Un organizzazione competente e professionale in un clima amichevole e "di gruppo". Siamo stati seguiti in ogni singolo passaggio delle diverse tecniche effettuate con estrema attenzione dagli istruttori Carlo e Marcello, capaci di metterti a proprio agio e trasmetterti la loro passione. Il posto (Baratti) è semplicemente incantevole. La macchia selvaggia di vegetazione che si staglia sul blu del mare, l'Elba a portata di mano, all'orizzonte Capraia e, nelle giornate limpide come la nostra, la silhouette della Corsica. Davvero consigliato !!
Eines unserer ersten Freitaucherlebnisse auf See. Eine kompetente und professionelle Organisation in einer freundlichen und „Gruppen“-Atmosphäre. Wir wurden bei jedem einzelnen Schritt der verschiedenen Techniken von den Ausbildern Carlo und Marcello mit äußerster Aufmerksamkeit begleitet, die in der Lage sind, Sie zu beruhigen und Ihnen ihre Leidenschaft zu vermitteln. Der Ort (Baratti) ist einfach herrlich. Die wilde Vegetation, die sich vom Blau des Meeres abhebt, Elba ganz in der Nähe, Capraia am Horizont und an klaren Tagen wie unserem die Silhouette Korsikas. Wirklich empfehlenswert!!
Een van onze eerste freediving-ervaringen op zee. Een competente en professionele organisatie in een gemoedelijke en ‘groeps’ sfeer. We werden bij elke stap gevolgd van de verschillende technieken die met uiterste aandacht werden uitgevoerd door de instructeurs Carlo en Marcello, die in staat waren je op je gemak te stellen en hun passie op je over te brengen. De plaats (Baratti) is gewoon prachtig. Het wilde stukje vegetatie dat afsteekt tegen het blauw van de zee, Elba vlakbij, Capraia aan de horizon en, op heldere dagen als de onze, het silhouet van Corsica. Echt een aanrader!!

Meine Begleiter und ich fuhren unter der Leitung unseres Lehrers für drei intensive Tage im Blauen zur Katabasis.Intensiv, weil wir einerseits nie aufgehört haben, das Meer kennenzulernen, zu leben und zu lieben, andererseits konnten wir uns neue Kenntnisse im Freitauchen aneignen und bereits erworbene perfektionieren.Carlo ist ein großartiger Profi, der in der Lage ist, Vorurteile oder falsche Gewohnheiten zu überwinden, und das gelingt ihm, weil er ein großes Einfühlungsvermögen besitzt, mit dem er es schafft, für jeden von uns ein einladender Motivator voller Anregungen und Reaktionen zu sein.Mit Carlo habe ich auch ein sehr ersehntes Ziel erreicht und erreicht: die SSI Level 3 Freediving-Zertifizierung, ein Weg, der es mir ermöglichte, tiefe Freitauchtechniken und vor allem theoretische und praktische Sicherheitsvorstellungen für mich und meine zukünftigen Freunde kennenzulernen und zu erwerben. Sono un apneista che stà per conseguire il secondo livello, e il nostro onnipresente istruttore decide di farci vivere questa esperienza con Carlo, che secondo lui rispecchia gli stessi suoi valori nell'apnea....Baratti è un luogo riservato e protetto dalle persone da cui lo vivono quotidianamente, e in Carlo si percepisce perfettamente la medesima dimensione, attento e dedicato non solo al luogo ma ad ogni apneista che porta in mare e non solo per professionalità che ovviamente lo precede, ma soprattutto per la sua capacità di dedicare la cosa giusta all'apneista giusto e di conseguenza alla persona .Sono stati quattro giorni emozionanti, introspettivi, e spensierati e aver accomunato queste tre cose fà si che resterà un ricordo indelebile .GRAZIE CARLO

Ich bin neu im Freitauchen und habe an einem Freitauchwochenende teilgenommen, das unser Tauchlehrer zusammen mit Carlo organisiert hat. Als wir am Hafen ankamen, wurde uns sofort klar, dass wir uns an einem außergewöhnlichen Ort befanden. Das Gefühl von Authentizität und wilder Schönheit umhüllte uns und wärmte unsere Seelen von Anfang an. Carlo führte uns durch seine Orte und vermittelte uns sofort seine tiefe Leidenschaft für das Meer, sodass wir alle seine Facetten schätzen und verstehen konnten. Wir waren sehr beeindruckt von seiner Fähigkeit, die Bedürfnisse eines jeden von uns zu verstehen. Dies führte zu sofortigem Einfühlungsvermögen und Verständnis, was das Erlebnis noch spezieller und unterhaltsamer machte. Wir wechselten zwischen technischen Sitzungen und Freizeitsitzungen ab, bei denen wir unsere Technik perfektionieren und sicheres Tauchen erlernen konnten, während wir die wunderbare Meeresumwelt der Umgebung genossen. Dieses Erlebnis war wunderbar und auch heute noch leuchtet dieses unendliche Blau in unseren Augen, während die Seele lächelt. Ik ben nieuw bij freediving en heb deelgenomen aan een freediving-weekend georganiseerd door onze instructeur samen met Carlo. Zodra we in de haven aankwamen, beseften we meteen dat we ons op een buitengewone plek bevonden. Het gevoel van authenticiteit en wilde schoonheid omhulde ons en verwarmde onze ziel vanaf het begin. Carlo leidde ons door zijn plaatsen en bracht ons onmiddellijk zijn diepe passie voor de zee over, waardoor we al zijn facetten konden waarderen en begrijpen. We waren erg onder de indruk van zijn vermogen om de behoeften van ieder van ons te begrijpen, dit creëerde een onmiddellijke empathie en begrip die de ervaring nog specialer en leuker maakte. We wisselden technische sessies af met recreatieve sessies waar we onze techniek konden perfectioneren en veilig konden leren duiken, terwijl we genoten van de prachtige omringende zeeomgeving. Sono una neofita dell'apnea e ho partecipato ad un weekend di apnea organizzato dal nostro istruttore insieme a Carlo. Appena giunti al porto, ci siamo resi conto immediatamente di trovarci in un luogo straordinario. La sensazione di autenticità e selvaggia bellezza ci ha avvolto, riscaldando i nostri animi sin dall'inizio. Carlo ci ha condotti attraverso i suoi luoghi, trasmettendoci sin da subito la sua profonda passione per il mare, facendoci apprezzare e comprendere tutte le sue sfaccettature. Ci ha colpito molto la sua capacità di comprendere le esigenze di ciascuno di noi, questo ha creato un'empatia immediata e un'intesa che ha reso l'esperienza ancora più speciale e divertente. Abbiamo alternato sessioni tecniche e sessioni ricreative dove abbiamo potuto perfezionare la nostra tecnica e imparare a tuffarci in sicurezza, godendo del meraviglioso ambiente marino circostante. Ho partecipato al raduno internazionale di apnea in Sicilia, con Carlo Boscia istruttore di apnea.Fare apnea all’inizio non facile.Ma Carlo è davvero bravo, ci ha insegnato tutto in modo semplice ed è riuscito a mettere tutti noi in condizione di poter capire, imparare e divertirci.

Carlo is een fantastische leraar en een geweldig persoon! Ik heb de SSI niveau 2-cursus (Advanced Freediver) bij hem gevolgd en heb van elk moment genoten. Zijn geduld en persoonlijke aandacht hebben me geholpen grote stappen voorwaarts te maken in mijn freediving-techniek, en ik kan niet wachten om terug te gaan naar de prachtig blauwe diepten van de Golf van Baratti.
Carlo is a fantastic teacher and a great person! I've taken the SSI level 2 course (Advanced Freediver) with him and loved every moment of it. His patience and personal attention have helped me make big steps forward in my freediving technique, and I can't wait to go back into the beautifully blue depths of the Gulf of Baratti.
Una bellissima esperienza......non tutti gli bravi apneisti sanno come insegnare l'apnea...Carlo è forte su entrambi i fronti ed è molto esperto. Direi un istruttore eccellente e impegnatissimo sia per la parte tecnica sia per la parte emozionante e talassofila. Eine wundervolle Erfahrung ... nicht alle guten Freitaucher wissen, wie man Freitauchen unterrichtet ... Carlo ist an beiden Fronten stark und sehr erfahren. Ich würde sagen, ein ausgezeichneter und sehr engagierter Lehrer, sowohl für den technischen Teil als auch für den aufregenden und thalassophilen Teil. Er arbeitet stets in kleinen Gruppen, um jedem Schüler seine volle Aufmerksamkeit zu widmen. Dann ist der Golf von Baratti sehr schön; ein wirklich wertvoller Ort.
Een geweldige ervaring......niet alle goede vrijduikers weten hoe ze vrijduiken moeten onderwijzen...Carlo is sterk op beide fronten en is zeer deskundig. Ik zou zeggen een uitstekende en zeer betrokken instructeur, zowel voor het technische gedeelte als voor het spannende en thalassofiele gedeelte. Hij werkt altijd in kleine groepen om zijn volledige aandacht aan elke student te kunnen besteden. Dan is de Golf van Baratti heel mooi; een werkelijk kostbare plek.

È un piacere essere in questo posto meraviglioso e imparare da Carlo che riesce ad inquadrarti molto bene e farti fare i gusti steps e a trasmetterti il suo amore per il mare e la natura in generale. c'è anche possibilità di alloggiare in ostello e quindi conoscere nuovi amici con cui fare apnea e risate.
Ho fatto un workshop di pesca in apnea con Carlo, non posso che essere contento, nonostante la durata del workshop sia stata di pochi giorni ho appreso così tanto da lui in termini di pesca, conoscenza che non avrei raggiunto in un breve-medio periodo da autodidatta, quindi super consigliatoNota aggiuntiva, Carlo ama il mare e lo si percepisce dal rispetto che ha per esso!Grazie ancora Carlo per tutto quello che ho imparato, a presto!!
Ich habe den dreitägigen Spearfishing-Kurs absolviert und bin absolut begeistert! Carlo ist ein unheimlich sympathischer und sehr erfahrener Trainer. In den drei Tagen haben wir die wichtigsten Techniken gelernt sowie die Verhaltensmuster und Aufenthaltsorte der verschiedenen Fische besprochen. Carlo hat uns auch seine Erfahrungen und Ideen für eine nachhaltige und sichere Fischerei mit der Harpune mitgegeben! Ich kann den Kurs absolut empfehlen!
Ik heb de driedaagse onderwatervisserscursus afgerond en ben er helemaal weg van! Carlo is een ontzettend sympathieke en zeer ervaren trainer. In de drie dagen leerden we de belangrijkste technieken en bespraken we de gedragspatronen en verblijfplaats van de verschillende vissen. Carlo gaf ons ook zijn ervaringen en ideeën voor duurzaam en veilig speervissen! Ik kan de cursus absoluut aanraden!
Je komt zelden iemand tegen die met zoveel passie les geeft. Mijn interesse in freediving is alleen maar meer geworden na de cursus. Carlo past zich aan elke student aan zodat je maximaal progressie haalt uit elke sessie. Ik kom zeker nog terug. Een echte aanrader voor iedereen die interesse heeft in freediving. We zijn met de familie gaan snorkelen, Carlo weet echt de beste plekken en deelt zijn ervaring met je. Niks dan kennis, plezier en een unieke ervaring !!!

Pochi giorni dove si ottengono grandi progressi e soddisfazioni personali. Un primo livello che ti mette alla prova.Difficile trovare di meglio.

È stata un'esperienza meravigliosa Carlo è stato un Maestro di altissimo livello la sua competenza, pignoleria e l'amore che ha per il mare mi hanno permesso di raggiungere risultati inaspettati. Chi ama il mare e l'apnea katabasis è il posto giusto. Un ringraziamento particolare a Sara insegnante di pranayama che ha saputo fondere lo yoga alle esigenze dell' apnea , bravissima. Carlo was een meester van het hoogste niveau. Zijn bekwaamheid, nauwgezetheid en liefde voor de zee stelden me in staat om onverwachte resultaten te bereiken. Iedereen die van de zee en freediving katabasis houdt, is hier aan het goede adres. Ich habe gerade einen Freitauchkurs der zweiten Stufe und einen Pranayama-Workshop in Kombination mit Freitauchen im wunderschönen Golf von Baratti mit Katabasis abgeschlossen. Es war eine wundervolle Erfahrung. Carlo war ein Meister auf höchstem Niveau. Seine Kompetenz, Akribie und Liebe zum Meer ermöglichten es mir, unerwartete Ergebnisse zu erzielen. Wer das Meer und die Freitauch-Katabasis liebt, ist hier genau richtig. Ein besonderer Dank geht an Sara, eine Pranayama-Lehrerin, die es sehr gut geschafft hat, Yoga mit den Bedürfnissen des Freitauchens zu verbinden. Vielen Dank an alle.
Ho fatto il corso Freediving Level 1 - SSI a fine ottobre 2022 avendo già conoscenze parziali in materia.Mi sono trovato benissimo. Istruttori molto qualificati, simpatici ed attenti. Corso ottimamente strutturato; ho molto apprezzato il corretto bilanciamento tra teoria e pratica, con estremo riguardo nei confronti della sicurezza e attenzione a trasmettere un sano approccio al mare ed al mondo acquatico nella sua interezza.Carlo e Luca sono stati molto efficaci nell'insegnamento e mi hanno sempre fatto sentire a mio agio durante le lezioni. Il fatto che sono persone naturalmente ed umanamente portate a creare un ambiente familiare, informale e molto genuino favorisce l'apprendimento e rende l'esperienza davvero molto piacevole nel suo complesso.Consigliatissimo per chi vuole muoversi per la prima volta in acqua e per chi vuole affinare la propria conoscenza in materia grazie ad un corso strutturato e svolto da professionisti.Il paesaggio del bellissimo golfo di Baratti è la ciliegina sulla torta...Grazie Katabasis - keep going !!
Era da molto che volevo fare un bel corso pratico di pesca sub. Girando su internet ho trovato questa scuola e avendo già un brevetto di secondo livello di apnea SSI mi sono detto "perché no!?".Premetto che cerco di pescare da almeno 3anni sempre con scarsissimi risultati nonostante apnee e profondità non così mediocri. Ma niente!! Non riuscivo proprio a prendere niente!!Finalmente incontro il mitico Carlo Boscia che con tantissima pazienza mi inizia alla nobile arte della pesca sub. Super paziente e molto bravo a trasmettere questa passione con un occhio attento anche alla sostenibilità, cosa molto apprezzata.Le lezioni si tengono nella splendida cornice del golfo di Baratti. Primi due giorni pieni di pratica e teoria. Cose fino ad ora soltanto male apprese attraverso qualche video si tramutano presto in realtà!! Carlo vi porterà a spasso tra i mari con il suo gommone e pazientemente vi insegnerà alcune tra le più efficaci tecniche di pesca in apnea.Il terzo giorno si è pure andati a pescare e non ci crederete(ma ovviamente ho fotodocumentato il tutto!!)ho preso un pesce!!! Ragazzi che emozione!!In conclusione il corso è stato molto utile e sicuramente mi ha fatto crescere ancora di più l'attrazione verso questo tipo di pesca. Consigliato moltissimo per chi ha già delle basi di apnea e si vuole affacciare al mondo della pesca sub e per chi non ha delle basi di apnea sicuramente Carlo saprà insegnarvi molto bene!!Penso che da ora in poi diventerà un appuntamento fisso dei miei futuri autunni!!!Ciao
Ich wollte schon lange einen schönen praktischen Kurs zum Speerfischen machen. Beim Stöbern im Internet bin ich auf diese Schule gestoßen und da ich bereits ein SSI-Freitauchzertifikat der zweiten Stufe hatte, sagte ich mir: „Warum nicht!?“.Lassen Sie mich zunächst sagen, dass ich seit mindestens drei Jahren versuche zu angeln, immer mit sehr schlechten Ergebnissen, trotz Freitauchen und nicht ganz so mittelmäßigen Tiefen. Aber nichts!! Ich konnte einfach nichts ertragen!!Schließlich treffe ich den legendären Carlo Boscia, der mich mit viel Geduld in die edle Kunst des Speerfischens einführt. Super geduldig und sehr gut darin, diese Leidenschaft zu vermitteln, mit einem sorgfältigen Blick auch auf Nachhaltigkeit, was sehr geschätzt wird.Der Unterricht findet in der herrlichen Umgebung des Golfs von Baratti statt. Die ersten zwei Tage voller Praxis und Theorie. Dinge, die bisher nur notdürftig durch ein paar Videos erlernt wurden, werden bald Realität!! Carlo nimmt Sie mit seinem Beiboot mit auf einen Spaziergang durch die Meere und bringt Ihnen geduldig einige der effektivsten Freitauchtechniken bei.Am dritten Tag sind wir sogar angeln gegangen und ihr werdet es nicht glauben (aber offensichtlich habe ich alles fotografiert!!) Ich habe einen Fisch gefangen!!! Leute, was für ein Nervenkitzel!!Zusammenfassend lässt sich sagen, dass der Kurs sehr nützlich war und mich sicherlich noch mehr für diese Art des Angelns interessiert hat. Sehr zu empfehlen für diejenigen, die bereits über Grundkenntnisse im Freitauchen verfügen und in die Welt des Gerätetauchens einsteigen möchten, und für diejenigen, die keine Grundkenntnisse im Freitauchen haben, Carlo wird Sie sicherlich sehr gut unterrichten können!!Ich denke, dass es von nun an ein fester Bestandteil meiner zukünftigen Herbsttage sein wird!!!HALLO
Ik wilde al heel lang een leuke praktijkcursus speervissen doen. Al surfend op internet vond ik deze school en ik had al een tweede niveau SSI freediving-certificering. Ik zei tegen mezelf: "Waarom niet!?".Laat ik beginnen met te zeggen dat ik al minstens 3 jaar probeer te vissen, altijd met zeer slechte resultaten ondanks vrijduiken en niet zo middelmatige diepten. Niks te maren!! Ik kon gewoon niets verdragen!!Eindelijk ontmoet ik de legendarische Carlo Boscia die mij met veel geduld kennis laat maken met de nobele kunst van het speervissen. Super geduldig en zeer goed in het overbrengen van deze passie met oog voor duurzaamheid, wat zeer gewaardeerd wordt.De lessen worden gegeven in de prachtige omgeving van de Golf van Baratti. Eerste twee dagen vol praktijk en theorie. Dingen die tot nu toe slechts slecht via een paar video's werden geleerd, worden al snel werkelijkheid!! Carlo neemt je mee voor een wandeling door de zee met zijn rubberboot en leert je geduldig enkele van de meest effectieve freediving-technieken.Op de derde dag zijn we zelfs gaan vissen en je zult het niet geloven (maar uiteraard heb ik alles gefotografeerd!!) Ik heb een vis gevangen!!! Jongens, wat een spanning!!Kortom, de cursus was zeer nuttig en heeft mij zeker nog meer aangetrokken tot deze vorm van visserij. Een echte aanrader voor degenen die al wat basis vrijduiken hebben en de wereld van het duiken willen betreden en voor degenen die geen basis vrijduiken hebben, zal Carlo je zeker heel goed kunnen leren!!Ik denk dat het vanaf nu een vast onderdeel van mijn toekomstige herfst zal worden!!!HOI

This past week I completed a 4 day free diving course to get my level 1 SSI certification, and I stayed with Carlo and Emma at their hostel. This experience with katabasis freediving would have been one of the best trips of my life even if we did not freedive in the mediterranean sea, because the course was in a awesome Italian town in a beautiful area of Tuscany right next to touristy sites like the ancient ruins of populonia, and the beautiful gulf of Baratti, plus the cost of the freediving course included 3 amazing home cooked Italian meals each day(made by Emma an amazing chef who ran a restaurant in Genova for 25 years) and the company and amazing life stories of the owners, Carlo and Emma, made every second of the trip enjoyable and interesting.In addition to that, you can learn to free dive or spearfish the mediterranean with a world class instructor. Carlo's freediving course took me from someone who had little knowledge of the sport, to a diver capable of rescuing a drowning diver 10 meters (33 feet) underwater and a diver who can reach 20 meters (65 feet) underwater in one breath. The instruction is amazing and there is no pressure to push past your limits.With all of that combined, this experience with Katabasis freediving can be the trip of a life time for anyone who speaks English, Spanish, or Italian just a few if the many languages the instructor, Carlo, fluently speaks.Overall, an amazing freediving adventure trip in tuscany italy.

UPDATEIn the intervening years I have taken a Level 2 course with Carlo, and return to dive with him every chance I get. I continue to admire his ability to help freedivers of all levels to grow thanks to his extensive experience and his attention to detail. He gives a great deal of personal attention to each student, and his emphasis on the experience and not on the numbers we are achieving aligns with my own interests. I feel pushed to do my best and to grow, but there is no pressure to accomplish specific goals other than continuing to improve my technique, relaxation and enjoyment. The increase in depth is a natural outgrowth of this positive approach. Thank you Carlo.I took the Freediving Level 1 course, which lasted three days. There was only one other student, so we got a lot of personal attention. Carlo (the owner and instructor) immediately made us feel relaxed and at ease, and his experience and confidence inspired both of us to make enormous progress, not just in depth, but in comfort and relaxation. He pushes you to do your best, but is also patient and supportive, allowing each of us to progress at our own pace, offering very precise feedback for each of us after each dive. We were responsible for buddying for each other from the surface, so each of us would learn from both our own mistakes, but also Carlo's corrections for the other student, which was very effective in helping us progress rapidly. I really appreciated his emphasis on fundamental skills - he is much more interested in helping us make clean dives than deep dives, and this allowed me to really relax and enjoy my time in the water. The result of this confidence and relaxation allowed me to double my personal best depths in both free immersion and constant weight, but this never felt like Carlo's goal, and I think that is an important lesson in itself.As a very important side note, it was a pleasure to spend three days with Carlo. He's really fun and relaxed, with tons of stories to tell but also curious and interested in the world and his students. I can't wait to dive with him again.

After having done my Level I and II course with Carlo, when his school was still on Elba Island, this year I decided to finally come back and dive. I did a workshop with him and 4 other students. It was magical. The place he chose for accomodation, the food his girlfriend cooked (absolutely amazing), his lessons, the diving. I do not know any other teacher of freediving, but I am very, very confident in saying, that Carlo has set the bar super high for everyone else. He has the calmest, kindest but at the same time most focussed mindset and he is really able to make every student with his or her issues, goals or fears heard and comfortable. I trust him a 100% in the water. Carlo know's what he is doing, whether it's underwater, teaching or boathandling. It does not matter, whether you'll do a workshop on a certain topic, a fun dive or a course: You can be sure to come home very grounded and calm, with a lot of progress in your pocket and a smile on your face. I am already excited for the next workshop or cruise I'll do with him! You're an amazing teacher, Carlo!
If there is a definition of a perfect instructor, It would be for Carlo, i had the best 3 days of my life under water with carlo, he not only is an excellent Freediver but also a very good and experienced teacher. He could easily understand the mentality of his students and would plan his methods of teaching based on that. I always felt safe underwater when he’s around and eventually i pushed my limits to 15m. Moreover he’s so respectful to the environment and the marine life so I’d definitely recommend him for different courses.And I can’t wait to join other events with him.
I had a free diving course for 4 days. Although I had little to no experience in water I managed to reach depths of 10 meters. Carlo is both patient and very experienced. Would absolutely recommend to anyone learning free diving techniques.

In a group we booked two days of freediving. In the morning we had some training on the rope and in the afternoon was recreational diving. Carlo is not only an experienced diver but also a very good coach with an eye for details and proper technique. In the morning sessions I really could learn a lot and the afternoons were used to relax and discover in an adventurous way the sea and island.We had a great time and I will definitely come back!Highly recommended!

Avevo poche e confuse nozioni di apnea ed una sola certezza i pesci (quelli tutti uguali con le pinne) sono più veloci di te. In una settimana in barca Carlo ha messo a punto la mia tecnica e mi ha aperto un grande mondo che si chiama mare. Poi grazie ai sui insegnamenti ho anche preso il mio primo pesce :-) ...il tutto in gran relax e tanta convivialità. Super consigliato.
"Nel blu, dipinto di blu felice di stare a testa in giù". Apnea? si è... molto, molto di più di quello che pensavo, direi una sorta di "yoga" nel blu del mare. Grazie Carlo per l'esperienza e "bolla d'ossigeno". Hasta Luego!
Ho appena finito il corso di primo livello di questa fantastica disciplina…è stato persino più emozionante di quanto già mi aspettassi. Ho imparato tanto, e sono soltanto all’inizio di questa avventura. Grazie mille a Carlo, bravissimo istruttore con un’esperienza di mare infinita e, non per ultimo, gran bella persona.Durante il corso ho conosciuto altre splendide persone, con la mia stessa passione per il mare e tanta voglia di imparare. Condividere con loro le emozioni, la fatica e le gioie in mezzo al blu è stata veramente una figata!
In questa settimana ho imparato tantissimo L apnea, la vela, conoscere le stelle che in città non si possono ammirare come li, le canzoni dei vecchi tempi e la compagnia fantastica ricordi che resteranno a vita che mi fanno commuovere. Entrando in quella barca tutti abbiamo lasciato una parte della nostra vita e ci siamo lasciati trasportare. Grazie ancora per tutte le risate e le lezioni di vita
Una delle nostre prime esperienze di apnea in mare. Un organizzazione competente e professionale in un clima amichevole e "di gruppo". Siamo stati seguiti in ogni singolo passaggio delle diverse tecniche effettuate con estrema attenzione dagli istruttori Carlo e Marcello, capaci di metterti a proprio agio e trasmetterti la loro passione. Il posto (Baratti) è semplicemente incantevole. La macchia selvaggia di vegetazione che si staglia sul blu del mare, l'Elba a portata di mano, all'orizzonte Capraia e, nelle giornate limpide come la nostra, la silhouette della Corsica. Davvero consigliato !!
Carlo è un ottimo istruttore, attento e preparato, trasmette la sua passione e rispetto per il mare. Ti mette subito a tuo agio e con la sua professionalità ti fa innamorare dell'apnea. Abbiamo passato un weekend nel golfo di Baratti, paesaggi e mare stupendi. Dopo le ore in acqua il premio è stato la scoperta di Suvereto e dei suoi piatti tradizionali. Tutto perfetto e consigliatissimo!

Io e i miei compagni, guidati dal nostro istruttore, siamo stati da Katabasis per 3 giorni intensi nel blu.Intensi perché non abbiamo mai smesso di imparare a conoscere, vivere e amare il mare da un lato, mentre dall’altro abbiamo potuto acquisire nuove conoscenze apneistiche e perfezionare quelle già acquisite.Carlo è un grandissimo professionista in grado di scardinare preconcetti o abitudini sbagliate e riesce a farlo perché dalla sua ha una grande empatia con la quale riesce ad essere un motivatore accogliente e pieno di stimoli e risposte per ognuno di noi.Con Carlo ho anche finalizzato e raggiunto un obiettivo tanto desiderato, la certificazione Freediving di 3 Livello SSI, un percorso che mi ha permesso di affrontare e acquisire tecniche di apnea profonda e soprattutto tutte le nozioni teoriche e pratiche di sicurezza per me e per i miei futuri buddies. Un’esperienza che Carlo mi ha fatto vivere con fiducia, entusiasmo e serenità, dentro e fuori dall’acqua. Quando la teoria diventa consapevolezza allora un apneista può godersi il blu con serenità. Questo è quello che ho trovato in Carlo, nel suo vivere il mare, l’apnea e nel rapporto umano esclusivo che riesce ad instaurare.Un’esperienza che ci portiamo tutti nel cuore e che non vediamo l’ora di ripetere 💙
Sono un apneista che stà per conseguire il secondo livello, e il nostro onnipresente istruttore decide di farci vivere questa esperienza con Carlo, che secondo lui rispecchia gli stessi suoi valori nell'apnea....Baratti è un luogo riservato e protetto dalle persone da cui lo vivono quotidianamente, e in Carlo si percepisce perfettamente la medesima dimensione, attento e dedicato non solo al luogo ma ad ogni apneista che porta in mare e non solo per professionalità che ovviamente lo precede, ma soprattutto per la sua capacità di dedicare la cosa giusta all'apneista giusto e di conseguenza alla persona .Sono stati quattro giorni emozionanti, introspettivi, e spensierati e aver accomunato queste tre cose fà si che resterà un ricordo indelebile .GRAZIE CARLO
Sono una neofita dell'apnea e ho partecipato ad un weekend di apnea organizzato dal nostro istruttore insieme a Carlo. Appena giunti al porto, ci siamo resi conto immediatamente di trovarci in un luogo straordinario. La sensazione di autenticità e selvaggia bellezza ci ha avvolto, riscaldando i nostri animi sin dall'inizio. Carlo ci ha condotti attraverso i suoi luoghi, trasmettendoci sin da subito la sua profonda passione per il mare, facendoci apprezzare e comprendere tutte le sue sfaccettature. Ci ha colpito molto la sua capacità di comprendere le esigenze di ciascuno di noi, questo ha creato un'empatia immediata e un'intesa che ha reso l'esperienza ancora più speciale e divertente. Abbiamo alternato sessioni tecniche e sessioni ricreative dove abbiamo potuto perfezionare la nostra tecnica e imparare a tuffarci in sicurezza, godendo del meraviglioso ambiente marino circostante. Questa esperienza è stata meravigliosa e ancora oggi, nei nostri occhi brilla quel blu infinito mentre l'anima sorride. Ho passato tre giorni incredibili di apnea pura con Carlo avevo bisogno di trovare la chiave giusta e lui mi ha aiutato a trovarla ho raggiunto il risultato che volevo,grande persona grande isruttore grande compagno di tuffi,persona che ama davvero il mare e la natura grazie ancora di tutto ,ci rivediamo molto presto
Ho partecipato al raduno internazionale di apnea in Sicilia, con Carlo Boscia istruttore di apnea.Fare apnea all’inizio non facile.Ma Carlo è davvero bravo, ci ha insegnato tutto in modo semplice ed è riuscito a mettere tutti noi in condizione di poter capire, imparare e divertirci.
Carlo è un vero professinista.Ho passato con lui 4 giorni pieni e coinvolgenti, facendo pesca subacquea all'Elba e dintorni insieme ad altri apneisti. Ho trovato in lui grande preparazione ed un forte rispetto per il mare.Sono stato catapultato nei video di pesca su YouTube che mi piacciono tanto, ma stavolta il protagonista ero io!ConsigliatissimoCarlo is very professional.I spent 4 full and engaging days with him. I practiced underwater fishing in and around Elba with him and other freedivers. Una bellissima esperienza......non tutti gli bravi apneisti sanno come insegnare l'apnea...Carlo è forte su entrambi i fronti ed è molto esperto. Direi un istruttore eccellente e impegnatissimo sia per la parte tecnica sia per la parte emozionante e talassofila. Lavora sempre in gruppi piccoli per dedicare tutta la sua attenzione ad ogni allievo. Poi il Golfo di Baratti è molto bello; un posto veramente prezioso.
Un corso di apnea che grazie alla passione, pazienza, professionalità, competenza di Carlo è diventato un'Esperienza unica.Ho chiesto a Katabasis di poter fare un corso di freediving "famigliare", due adulti e due ragazzi, ed è stato davvero importante e incredibile per noi poterlo fare, abbiamo imparato insieme la tecnica e abbiamo condiviso la bellezza del lago e del mare; guidati da Carlo abbiamo imparato un nuovo modo di vivere l'acqua, unico e naturale.Il corso è un giusto mix di teoria e pratica, con la comunicazione appropriata dell'importanza della parte teorica per poter vivere l'acqua in sicurezza.
Bella esperienza! Un amico mi ha fatto incuriosire del mondo dell'apnea e qui ho trovato l'ambiente giusto. Carlo e i suoi amici/collaboratori sono innamorati di questa pratica e del mare nella sua interezza...e lo trasmettono a "pieni polmoni"!Sicuramente Katabasis sarà il mio punto di riferimento per nuovi "tuffi" in sicurezza, godendomi il bellissimo golfo di Baratti.

È un piacere essere in questo posto meraviglioso e imparare da Carlo che riesce ad inquadrarti molto bene e farti fare i gusti steps e a trasmetterti il suo amore per il mare e la natura in generale. c'è anche possibilità di alloggiare in ostello e quindi conoscere nuovi amici con cui fare apnea e risate.
Ho fatto un workshop di pesca in apnea con Carlo, non posso che essere contento, nonostante la durata del workshop sia stata di pochi giorni ho appreso così tanto da lui in termini di pesca, conoscenza che non avrei raggiunto in un breve-medio periodo da autodidatta, quindi super consigliatoNota aggiuntiva, Carlo ama il mare e lo si percepisce dal rispetto che ha per esso!Grazie ancora Carlo per tutto quello che ho imparato, a presto!!
Un corso professionale, uno dei migliori istruttori, amichevole, serio, preparato, con una grande esperienza, vive il mare a 360°, quando me ne hanno parlato lo hanno descritto con una parola "lui è ACQUA".Apnea primo livello, una bellissima esperienza un bel gruppo di persone piacevoli, bellissima località.Un'avventura che non si dimentica.Dopo una breve introduzione in acque confinate si svolge tutto in mare. Pochi giorni dove si ottengono grandi progressi e soddisfazioni personali. Un primo livello che ti mette alla prova.Difficile trovare di meglio.
Ho appena concluso un corso di apnea di secondo livello ed un workshop di pranayama abbinato all'apnea nel meraviglioso golfo di Baratti con katabasis. È stata un'esperienza meravigliosa Carlo è stato un Maestro di altissimo livello la sua competenza, pignoleria e l'amore che ha per il mare mi hanno permesso di raggiungere risultati inaspettati. Chi ama il mare e l'apnea katabasis è il posto giusto. Un ringraziamento particolare a Sara insegnante di pranayama che ha saputo fondere lo yoga alle esigenze dell' apnea , bravissima. Ho fatto il corso Freediving Level 1 - SSI a fine ottobre 2022 avendo già conoscenze parziali in materia.Mi sono trovato benissimo. Istruttori molto qualificati, simpatici ed attenti. Corso ottimamente strutturato; ho molto apprezzato il corretto bilanciamento tra teoria e pratica, con estremo riguardo nei confronti della sicurezza e attenzione a trasmettere un sano approccio al mare ed al mondo acquatico nella sua interezza.Carlo e Luca sono stati molto efficaci nell'insegnamento e mi hanno sempre fatto sentire a mio agio durante le lezioni. Il fatto che sono persone naturalmente ed umanamente portate a creare un ambiente familiare, informale e molto genuino favorisce l'apprendimento e rende l'esperienza davvero molto piacevole nel suo complesso.Consigliatissimo per chi vuole muoversi per la prima volta in acqua e per chi vuole affinare la propria conoscenza in materia grazie ad un corso strutturato e svolto da professionisti.Il paesaggio del bellissimo golfo di Baratti è la ciliegina sulla torta...Grazie Katabasis - keep going !!
Era da molto che volevo fare un bel corso pratico di pesca sub. Girando su internet ho trovato questa scuola e avendo già un brevetto di secondo livello di apnea SSI mi sono detto "perché no!?".Premetto che cerco di pescare da almeno 3anni sempre con scarsissimi risultati nonostante apnee e profondità non così mediocri. Ma niente!! Non riuscivo proprio a prendere niente!!Finalmente incontro il mitico Carlo Boscia che con tantissima pazienza mi inizia alla nobile arte della pesca sub. Super paziente e molto bravo a trasmettere questa passione con un occhio attento anche alla sostenibilità, cosa molto apprezzata.Le lezioni si tengono nella splendida cornice del golfo di Baratti. Primi due giorni pieni di pratica e teoria. Cose fino ad ora soltanto male apprese attraverso qualche video si tramutano presto in realtà!! Carlo vi porterà a spasso tra i mari con il suo gommone e pazientemente vi insegnerà alcune tra le più efficaci tecniche di pesca in apnea.Il terzo giorno si è pure andati a pescare e non ci crederete(ma ovviamente ho fotodocumentato il tutto!!)ho preso un pesce!!! Ragazzi che emozione!!In conclusione il corso è stato molto utile e sicuramente mi ha fatto crescere ancora di più l'attrazione verso questo tipo di pesca. Consigliato moltissimo per chi ha già delle basi di apnea e si vuole affacciare al mondo della pesca sub e per chi non ha delle basi di apnea sicuramente Carlo saprà insegnarvi molto bene!!Penso che da ora in poi diventerà un appuntamento fisso dei miei futuri autunni!!!Ciao
Una esperienza unica dal punto di vista ricreativo, umano e di crescita personale.Carlo è un Maestro con la M maiuscola dentro e fuori dall'acqua e la Passione per il mare, l'ambiente e il territorio fanno si che quando persone affini si incontrino nasca sempre qualcosa di positivo.Mi permetto di consigliare assolutamente sia i corsi di freediving che di spearfishing. Ho avuto il piacere di frequentare due Workshops e ne sono totalmente soddisfatto!Ad maiora Semper.
Carlo non è solo un istruttore ma è mentor e coach. Ho apprezzato la sua disponibilità e costante impegno, oltre che il profondo senso di umiltà. Non potevo trovare Istruttore migliore per formare il mio cammino come apneista.Carlo ha la capacità di trasmettere tutte le sue competenze con estrema serietà e una profonda gioia.
