WHEN THE SEA MAKES YOU GROW
KATABASIS FREEDIVING and SAILING, an amateur sports association, in collaboration with MARES, organizes summer camps to introduce young people to the wonderful world of freediving and the sea in general.
The days are characterized by alternating activities at sea such as freediving, snorkeling, swimming and excursions and trekking. An active and engaging holiday where theory lessons are also conducted in Italian and English!
Activities such as breathing and relaxation are proposed to the children on a daily basis in order to introduce them to an often unknown aspect of listening to the body and emotions.
The program: education, nature and lots of fun!
Sub-acquaticity and freediving
A program to introduce you to the wonderful marine world. With safety always a priority, the youngsters are taken on a journey of discovery of body and mind. The freediving programme offers notions of technique without ever forgetting recreational freediving, and always includes games. Constant buoyancy, arm descents, dive preparation, compensation and the buddy system are the topics that will quickly become part of the new cultural background of young freedivers!
Breathing and relaxation
The knowledge and control of breathing has always been of fundamental importance in freediving and the youngsters seem to know this. Sessions of diaphragmatic breathing and listening to the movements of the abdomen and chest are proposed, which become an important starting point for experiencing relaxation. Some postures are borrowed from the wisdom of yoga as well as important ideas from mental training.
A real workshop of information, technique and emotions!
