June 2025: Basic level spearfishing course
In the splendid setting of the Gulf of Baratti in Tuscany; a course that aims to be a starting point for those who already possess sufficient freediving technique to be able to tackle the topics of spearfishing within 15 meters and be able to make the most of the teachings on freediving.
!!!A freediving certification is required to take part in the course; it is possible to organize a freediving course + fishing course package with Katabasis and receive a discount on the total cost.
TOPICS COVERED
Equipment – Find out what you need and eliminate the superfluous
Freediving technique – duckdive, finning, gliding, landing, restarting from the bottom, equalization
Variables – The impact of light, current, bottom and the behaviour of small fish
Spearfishing techniques – Fishing in a cave, ambushing and waiting
Safety – Practicing freediving safely is more than just a list of rules.
Environment – Actively living respect for the environment, fish species and regulations with an active, proactive and demonstrative attitude.
