Freediving Party

SEPTEMBER 2024: To celebrate its twentieth anniversary, Katabasis organises the “Freediving Party”, a celebration of the Sea aimed at everyone, to practise Freediving, get to know the enchanting Gulf of Baratti and the pleasure of being together! A moment of encounter between students and Freediving instructors dedicated to the different aspects of an activity that, more than a sport, is a real lifestyle.

During this weekend dedicated to Freediving, it will be possible to practice the different Freediving disciplines at all levels. There will be five dives sessions (cable training and recreational) and workshops on different topics such as the marine environment and its inhabitants, the choice and use of equipment, training in the sea, and functional Freediving nutrition.

The event is organised by Carlo Boscia, founder of Katabasis, and his staff and instructors. The organisation will also provide housing, involving local rural facilities and proposing a diet suitable for the activity, with low environmental impact and, of course, genuine local Tuscan flavours.

FRIDAY :

• 7:45 – Yoga relaxation
• 8:30 – Breakfast
• 10:30 – 1st dive
• Fast break on land
• 14:00 – 2nd dive

SATURDAY :

• 7:45 – Yoga relaxation
• 8:30 – Breakfast

SUNDAY :

• 8:30 – Breakfast
• 9:00 – Workshop : equalization

!!To participate to the event you must have:

• Katabasis 2024 membership card (€25)
• Valid medical certificate
• Freediving certification from any agency

HOUSING

At the Fattoria S. Leonardo residence in Baratti, in a flat with two double rooms, bathroom, veranda, barbecue area, outdoor shower and wi-fi connection.
!!! TO KNOW !!!
You need to bring your own sheets, pillowcases and towels; breakfast will be prepared autonomously with the products already present in the flats and a “hostel-like” behaviour is required, following rules of normal living together.
There is ample parking and a supermarket 500 metres away and it is possible to reach the sea on foot in a pleasant 10-minute walk through olive trees.
