August 2026: Sardinia aboard the 22-metre ocean-going Ironbarque. Whale watching, Sailing school and Freediving

In partnership with
Discover the beauty of the sea in all its forms in Sardinia with Katabasis Freediving and Sailing! From 2 to 8 or from 9 to 15 August 2026, choose your period (or both) aboard the incredible IRONBARQUE, a majestic 22-meters ocean-going sailing boat, arriving and departing from the port of Stintino.
In a partnership with Oxygene Sail a sailing cruise to explore the north-western part of Sardinia, considered one of the most beautiful areas in the Mediterranean; a week on board to practice recreational freediving and spearfishing, always with a focus on sustainability and respect for the environment. A formative experience where you can learn to be an active part of a sailing crew and, new for 2026…we’re starting Whale Watching! We will sail the routes of dolphins and whales, so there is a good chance of encountering the cetaceans that have always made us dream.

What do we do on board?
Check out the page dedicated to cruises to find out about the activities on board; in addition to daily sailing lessons, there is a workshop on recognizing fish and marine mammals that live in our sea. It is also always possible to go recreational freediving or, on request, take part in a Freediving Course with SSI Freediving teaching or simply a few lessons. For freedivers, following the captain’s instructions and the rules of sustainable and safe spearfishing, there are excellent opportunities to practice your passion or, again, to take part in a course or individual lessons.
IRONBARQUE

A 22-meters (72-foot) cutter-rigged sailing boat and part of the Challenge 72 fleet, Ironbarque was built for extreme challenges such as the Global Challenge, the round-the-world race against the prevailing winds. Features: steel hull, super-robust, watertight compartments and total autonomy in all weather conditions. After circumnavigating the globe, Ironbarque is ready to take you to the Mediterranean and beyond, giving its crew the opportunity to sail and learn aboard a boat that many consider legendary.
